Dr. Otis Arnold Singletary (b. 1921) of Gulfport, Mississippi, was a professor of history and from 1961 to 1966 chancellor of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. From November 1964 to January 1966, he was on a leave of absence to direct the federal Job. James Sharbrough Ferguson served as acting chancellor during this time.
